Gahsę:ni:yo: has been an instructor at DG since the summer of 2016. Prior to this, she attended DG as a student during the 2015-2016 academic year while concurrently completing the two year Ǫgwehǫ:weh Language Diploma Program (OLDP) at Six Nations Polytechnic. She not only received her diploma for Cayuga language, but she also received the Award of Excellence in the OLDP from McMaster University by maintaining the highest grade point average for the program.
Having taught for a few years now, Gahsę:ni:yo: finds that it can still be a bit intimidating at times, as she knows she still has a lot to learn. However, being able to help others understand and learn Gayogo̱ho:nǫˀ has been immensely rewarding. She also considers herself to be extremely fortunate to be able to teach and to continue furthering her knowledge and understanding of the language.
